So far 2024 has been a pain in the neck literally. I have had a tightness in between my shoulder blades that has caused several knots in my neck. Knots that are a constant annoyance and if I turn just the right way, it is a sharp pain. This pain is a reminder to slow down and stretch, to think before moving and most of all be aware.

This New Years Stretch is a good place to start a conversation of what’s new at AHOD(Abide House of Design) and where we are headed in 2024 but first…

Here’s a highlight recap from 2023.

1– Full time at AHOD-This is my calling, my dream and my absolute delight. I get to wake up every day and play store, create beautiful rooms and help you find the best way to express your story.

2– Involved with Isaiah 117 House. I have served lemonade, networked with local businesses to support our silent auction and see God build this house here in York County, SC. If you would like to hear more about Isaiah 117 House, be involved or donate the building fund, click the link below.

3– Paul and I visited the tulip fields of Amsterdam and took a 100-mile bike ride over 4 days

Me on Day 2 of our bike ride adventure (after we had recovered my lost luggage, I was a much happier participant!)

Happy shout out to https://www.hollandbiketours.com/ for helping us achieve the trip of a lifetime!

The Keukenhof Gardens were spectacular…there is just no other word.

And now onto the new…

It was a great year but here we are on the precipice of 2024 and we’ve got new goals in our year of “Faith”

1– More writing time-blogs and I’m working on a novel

AND…

2– Weekly videos on home decor, wardrobe hacks, organizing and I am hoping for some special guests

AND…

3– Travel-so far we are planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas and maybe the northeast in the fall. I love autumn colors and have never seen Niagara Falls.

And…

4-Concentrating on health. I’d love a smaller, fitter body in the process but my goal is to improve health overall. I’d love to share recipes and workout tips. Currently I working through Week 5 of C25K (couch potato to 5K). This program has always been my #1 go to tool to train for running events. It’s a free to download on your phone and has proven results. Running is a great way to get those steps in while working my stress out!

And finally, the goals that stretch my faith-

Our own retail space

AHOD to replace Paul’s income as well

A published book

These goals will take some God-sized Stretching (I am not fond of my voice on video), some Surrender (letting go of what doesn’t work or benefit me) and a whole lot of Faith (my God is bigger, better, greater, stronger) but I’m looking forward to the journey. He is in my every day and that makes it worthwhile.

Our mission is to help you see Gods beauty and creativity in your home and wardrobe. How does He show up in your every day? Send us an email and let us know your prayer requests, your faith goals and how God shows up for you!

Best,

Shannon
